
Lake Shore Middle School SY 21-22 Dress Code Policy
School is a student’s place of business and appropriate dress is required throughout the school day. The primary responsibility for the personal appearance of students rests with the students and parents. Students are expected to come to school with proper attention to personal cleanliness, grooming, and neatness of dress.
TOPS must be POLO-style. They must be red, white, blue (any shade), or black with buttons. They may have long sleeves or short sleeves. One exception is that students may wear Lake Shore Middle School t-shirts.
Also note that:
- Shirts may not have any writing or designs (except Lake Shore Middle School t-shirts)
- Logos must be on the front in the top left or right corner and be less than 3x3 inches in size
- Logos may not appear on sleeves or the back of the shirt
- Shirts must completely cover the underarms, abdomen, back, shoulders, midriff, and chest at all times while sitting or standing
- Undergarments must be covered at all times, and they may not be visible through outer clothing
BOTTOMS should be DOCKER-style pants, knee-length shorts, knee-length skorts, or capris. Bottoms must be khaki, black, gray, or navy blue in color.
Also note that:
- Pants may not contain oversized pockets or cargo pockets
- Bottoms must fit properly and be worn at the natural waist
- Shorts, skorts, and skirts must be no shorter than 2 inches above the knee
- No jeans are permitted
The weather may demand that a student wear an outer garment over their Polo-style shirt or Lake Shore t-shirt. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
- Students may wear a jacket with a zipper
- No writing or designs are allowed
- Logos must be at the upper left or right corner and be less than 3x3 inches in size
- Hoods are not allowed to be worn on student’s heads due to safety concerns - A student’s face must be clearly visible at all times without any obstructions
FOOTWEAR may consist of only closed-toe shoes and sneakers (no Crocs)

BOOK BAGS must be mesh or clear so that the contents are clearly visible. Small purses are permitted, but they may not be smaller versions of book bags unless they are mesh or clear.
